Update released. 10/11/2020 + Scale of the game.

Changelog:

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

New:

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-Finally got my brain to work with enums more properly... So now some things should be easier to work. The horror. I have used ints for implementing a lot of stuff, such as combat values, and some dialogues. At least now it should be easier to memorize and work with.

-Danger meter now resets upon leaving the dangerous area, making the danger meter make more sense.

-Some of the arenas got a slight visual change.

-Added companion stats scaling with leveling.

-Added damage and support stuff scaling with leveling as well.

-Added combat log. (Damage only at the moment. Support skills log later.)

-Added hotkeys. Could be modified through the launcher on PC, however visually the buttons will stay the same for now until unity will have a method to get a button's name to string lol. Or until I'll buy some bloody assets. But am running low on funds right now, so it'll take a while.

-Added support for percentage attacks. aka attacks that do % from current HP and maximum HP.

-Press turn limit - Increased to 32. (Don't worry about it, it's for specific things. *cough* the things I am trying to implement that is. *cough*. Player still has 8 max by *default*.)

-Enemy highlight no longer gets stuck.

-Enemy got a little bit more visual feedback when getting damaged.

-Enemy no longer "twitches" in combat if the attack has no damage.

-2 new combat elements, Special and Almighty.

Almighty: Can still be affected by repel/defense, etc.
Special: Pierces through everything.

-2 new companions. (They are basically the reason why there are more combat changes. I feel like all of them should have something unique that is worth keeping them for in your party and swap out when needed.)

-Work on tichi slowly continues... Inn has been opened. sure is worth putting into the changelog...

-Some more placeholder content was removed.

-Exp gain has been increased, now scales if more than 2 enemies are present on the screen.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Fixes:
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-Fixed: Some incorrect dialogues in camp. Old system had confused some values, but it should be fine now.

-Fixed: Save menu's text not properly showing on 16:9 resolutions.

-Fixed: A bug where leaving the battle area when danger meter was at highest, the UI would just disappear after combat.

-Fixed: the shop not working. Again. This time it should be a permament solution.

-Fixed: Dialogue lines in camp still playing after loading a game without characters that should be saying any of these words.

-Fixed some other minor bugs.

-Fixed an issue where the first enemy never attacked.

-Fixed an issue where a "dead" enemy could still do an attack. It was a visual glitch though, but now the skills should properly show up over each enemy's head.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

General:

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-Added a... x86x64 build? I've had an email saying the game just crashes when they try to launch it, so maybe this other build will do the trick? I was unable to replicate that issue, hence why we'll just see.
-Minor legal page updates, mostly just adding more credits to the music I am planning to use.

Known issues/Notes:
-You will most likely see an increase in size, mainly because of me doing stuff in the background. Don't worry about it. As the game gets bigger so does it's size.

-I had to disable female protagonist, at least for now. Sorry, but I don't think I can write her well and I don't wanna mess up. The only way I'd bring her back if either of those will happen: 1) There will be a separate writer that could actually write decent female protagonist scenes. 2) Or there would be no adult scenes for her at all, I'd much rather cut her than have something half assed and wrong.

-When you load the game after loading your old save file, please save over it instantly for the new stuff to apply correctly. I'll add a method to do it automatically the next time.

I've yet to figure out what to do with her, so for now let's leave it be. Better focus on the rest of the game for now.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now just some small dev talk and bla bla talk here, feel free to skip it if you want.

First of all, I'd like to add that a new scene was supposed to be in this build, but with making two new companions with features that were not implemented in the game, I had to focus on these features first. Turns out there's still a long way to go. But it's fine. I just hope it won't take an eternity to complete. At least everything is more or less bug free. (At least, I hope it is bug free, let me know if something is still fucking up real bad.)

And, I've been realizing that I've made a fairly large mistake by making it an adult project, to be honest.
But that's just my own personal thought. While working on this and that, I thought, I don't really want to be masking myself that much online but.

It is clear that I would never be able to use that project to connect it to my real name, or use it as a portfolio.  Even with that Mature version of the game.

That is why, I am slowly working on something else with similiar things, but safe, and smaller (scale wise). Something I could actually use in a portfolio without someone telling me "Hey, so what's this monster fetish all about."

Now, obviously I am still a monster lover on the inside, but... Not everyone can accept us, I suppose. It's fine.

Anyhows. I've got another project I am working on that I am actually planning to connect to myself. Both projects share a fair bit of code, so at least a lot of improvements from there will likely end up here, too.

So hey, that's a plus, right?

I just hope you don't feel betrayed by reading this. It's probably just my anxiety speaking up. Either way. I still plan on finishing this project.

I've lowered the stakes even more to make sure it is finishable.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

With that being said, here's a total plan for Zetharis which still may or may not change.

-Party members: Total 15. All with their own questline.

-Enemies: Over or under 40 (Excluding bosses), not every enemy will have their own scene.

- Locations:  3 BIG ones, like the initial area, with 20 way smaller ones.

- Quests: I've decided to mostly keep it to main quest with 4 endings, with side content mostly being companion quests/stories, and with some minor faction quests if and when they are done.

- 10 Collectibles.

- 4 Crystal pieces.

That seems fairly small and doable on paper. That is what I am going to stick with.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I hope you are going to enjoy the new version, sorry for being busy.
